Marthakal Homeland Resource Centre is responsible for the provision of services and the economic and social development of 16 homelands spread across an area of over 15,000 square kilometers in North East Arnhemland. This area is collectively known as the Marthakal homelands.

MHRC services the homelands and the Island in areas of health, housing, age care, municipal services, infrastructure, natural resource management, employment services, transport and business development.

About the Opportunity

Marthakal Homeland Resource Centre has a unique opportunity for a full time Trainer (Handyperson/Maintenance) to join its team on Elcho Island, NT.

The successful candidate will serve as a positive role model and will provide non vocational training in building and related trades for the Indigenous participants. You will provide practical work readiness skills and be required to impart your knowledge and skills to the participants attending the work readiness training projects of Marthakal Employment Services (MES).

Trade skills are not mandatory but would be an advantage as you will be passing on skills from fencing, to garden irrigation, painting to building maintenance.

This is an amazing opportunity for an applicant seeking a new adventure in a remote location.
